Not for the squeamish

Well the long hours of work and planning and helping friends demo sheds and paper shuffling and biking and cooking and eating and cleaning have caught up with us and Dustin has relinquished his right to tell his story from last week. **Note, the pictures are gross so beware if you are a little faint seeing blood... So, last Friday I had worked the early shift and was back at home on a call with a virtual assisting client, so naturally my mobile was on silent, and as soon as I hung up, the home phone rang. (This is a phone that only people who have had a part in giving birth to one of us tend to use... that and wrong numbers, we get a surprising number of wrong numbers...) Anyways when Dustin's voice was on the other end the confusion began. "Hi, I'm at the hospital. Come here now." "What happened??" "I'm fine. Just come up here." (Wheels spinning in my head...) When Birds Attack...

Ok sorry to leave you hanging on the Dustin story but I will continue because I think he wanted to write it himself. And it's much harder to get back into working 51 hour weeks after the holidays than expected. So hopefully this weekend he can sit down and spin the tale... complete with pictures! He really nailed it. So far we've eaten two of the beautiful ripe red tomatoes from our garden. Sadly, the birds have also eaten as many as we have! Yes I was tempted to just cut away the bad bits and eat the rest but at the risk of bird flu I decided not to haha So now we have a little harem garden... The dizzying highs and lows of the wild rollercoaster that is gardening eh?

This is happening!

This is what's happening: Paperworking it out! Chili time! Tommytoes! Salsa and tomato sauce here we come! I am too exhausted to tell many stories. We've been back to work for the week and it already feels like it's been 2 or 3 weeks. We're checking things off the immigration list. We have put down a deposit to move to a house, renting from friends of ours so we move Feb 9. We've caught a couple AMAZING artists at the free concerts in the park - check out Mel Parsons and Edward Waaka  if you want some new music! We've been garage sailing and have bought our first big appliances ever - we need a washer for our new place and scored a cheap dryer along with it! Thanks to other good deals, we will also have matching bedside tables and matching lamps for the first time ever as well. Haha, big things going on here! We're going to train for a giant bike relay that happens on the 26th so we've got to get to that this week among making plans
