I know you are hanging out for photos of the new house but I am saving that until later! We are still unpacking so aren't organized for a photo shoot yet.
But there are plenty of pictures to share from the beerfest this past weekend. We got tickets months ago to avoid a last minute begging like last year. There were less tickets this year as well because I think it got a little out of hand for the organizers last year.
So after a day of moving, and a morning of cleaning we headed into town to catch the bus up north where 40 minutes later we would be transported to "Oktoberfest" at the local brewery. Many people dress up but this year I couldn't be bothered - ok, well initially I was and I ordered my costume a month ahead of time but the listing size was wrong and when it arrived, there was no way I was fitting into it! Despite urging Dustin to zip it up while I tried not to breathe. So, after that I decided it was too much energy to find another. This worked in my favour because there were at least 30+ other girls wearing the dress I had ordered previously. Yep, there's a small selection of costume importers and that one was popular.
Despite a bit of poor event management, it was a fun day and we caught up with some friends, enjoyed some beers, dance-partied, and took a break from the moving madness! However, it did make for early exhaustion on Sunday and possibly contributed to me catching a cold yesterday!

Not everyone sticks to the beer theme. They were wearing speedos. |

The glory of the day belonged to Mela though. She took out the possum chuck top prize for the women! We're so proud of her.
We missed the possum chuck last year so I didn't explain it. It's very simple: take one dead possum and throw it as far as you can without stepping over the line. You get three chances. They charge you the equivalent of a 1/3 fill of your beer mug and they line up b the dozens. Myself, well I stuck to the beer although I would give it a go if it was free. Or at least didn't mean I would have less beer. There is definitely technique involved in throwing, and watching. We saw at least 3 surprise possum visits to people who weren't completely paying attention to the wayward throws. Which made it hilarious.
So that was our Saturday. How many dead possums did you see get chucked over your weekend?
