Merry Christmas!

Here you go, a little peek into our life in New Plymouth...

(I wanted to embed the videos but I uploaded them to you tube with a different gmail account than the blog is set up under and I can't be bothered to go and add that gmail account to the blog so I can find them directly. And I made them unlisted because we're not into a mega online presence so I can't search them to embed with the video tool! Most searches with "Dustin" and "xmas" come up with this Irish cartoon Dustin the Turkey instead. And, you see, this video has been hanging on the to-do list for probably 3-4 weeks now! And since it's Christmas Eve, I didn't want to delay any further and it's getting late and any tech-savvy I have in me is wearing thin... But apparently the song in mine won't let me play it for the copyright so I will upload mine again another time after I find a new song that won't cause any copyright notices to come up, maybe next week... yes I am new at the internet.

And we are completely exhausted because the last few days have been incredibly hot and humid - yep we've turned the AC on a couple times in the house! - and we've been running around, visiting people, baking, making food, showing Lena around and being on the go. Including unexpected trips to the massage therapist - blasted stiff and painful shoulder/neck! - and the mechanic - stupid stones stuck in our brakes making a terrible squeak!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5kFLKgusj0&feature=youtu.be - oops, it said this video looks shaky and they could fix it so I said sure but I don't like it and didn't know how to undo that "fix"! Maybe later I will upload a fresh version and not fix it. But enjoy anyways! Dustin picked the perfect soundtrack.

Watch this space for my version soon...

So please, sit back and enjoy! We'll be thinking of you this Christmas season (while we're sweating and hanging out in the pool) and hope that all is well!

Cheers!

Taranaki Rugby!

Some photos from the game on Saturday afternoon. The wind caused a few wayward kicks and the torrential downpour mid-game made the ball slip all over the place but then the sun came out and Taranaki won! They were playing Canterbury who are now behind them by one place in the rankings. We had fun and managed to walk there and back without catching any of the rain. The steam-breathing drivable mascot I don't think the photo does justice to just how much it was raining! Line out Go the 'Naki! (They are the yellow and black team.)

Not for the squeamish

Well the long hours of work and planning and helping friends demo sheds and paper shuffling and biking and cooking and eating and cleaning have caught up with us and Dustin has relinquished his right to tell his story from last week. **Note, the pictures are gross so beware if you are a little faint seeing blood... So, last Friday I had worked the early shift and was back at home on a call with a virtual assisting client, so naturally my mobile was on silent, and as soon as I hung up, the home phone rang. (This is a phone that only people who have had a part in giving birth to one of us tend to use... that and wrong numbers, we get a surprising number of wrong numbers...) Anyways when Dustin's voice was on the other end the confusion began. "Hi, I'm at the hospital. Come here now." "What happened??" "I'm fine. Just come up here." (Wheels spinning in my head...) "Are you sure? I think it will take me too long to bike because I
