Milestones

(So funny how one word can bring back all these memories - I haven't thought about that restaurant Milestones in years but as I typed that, whoa, life in the Lower Mainland returns.) What I was writing about was the fun ways that we've celebrated some milestone birthdays with friends over the last several months. Now I don't think it has to be a milestone to require extra special celebrating but I guess there is a nice ring to it. Some of the party fun that's gone on... Rachel's "Phat 40" Quentin Tarantino party. There were probably upwards of 60 people all decked out as various Tarantino characters dancing it up until about 3am... ok, not everyone stayed until then. For those of us who haven't seen more than maybe one of his films, well it sure was a challenge to pick something. I chose the easy girl costume of Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction. I don't even remember the character name but that doesn't matter! They went all out, hired a h

Porter Update

So, now that we've had Porter for more than a year now, we're in full Porter-obsessed mode. I just looked back at the last couple months of photos on my phone and anything that wasn't work-related was pretty much Porter. So, here's some of those... Then he squirrels them away under the bed until we finally crawl under to collect them all. Usually he doesn't end up with this ma

We're too busy dancing to get knocked off our feet

Well here we are. Already into late April. And it's definitely getting chilly. I turned on the heat this morning. Life is moving along so fast. We now have a nephew! And he's already two months old! Dustin is busy renovating someone else's house these days - but it's only a minute commute for him so that's working well. We did take a break over the summer on our own place but we might be getting back into it soon. Social stuff has been forefront this summer (ok and technically now autumn). Including our tenth wedding anniversary, a friend's 40th and a beer fest! Then there's a housewarming party this coming weekend too. I've been busy with developing my business and have been contracting to the company I worked for last year on a project for the last couple of months and I've been working with a couple other clients too. I'm finding bits of time to work on redeveloping my website and getting ready to market myself. Once it's all ready
