Find me blogging

I know that I don't pay enough attention to this blog but I wanted to let you know that I've started to blog on my business website so if you just need a fix, you can find me there too now! www.assistia.nz

My arms can barely hold my hands to type properly because I've just had a full on personal training session tonight. Getting prepared for adding a specialisation to my Zumba training! There's a class that has started at the local girls high school so I'll be part of a team of us leading that class. It just started last week so we've done two now and had about 40 girls attend each one! They seem to have lots of fun.

I have done my first song for the usual classes I attend! Only a couple times but I am able to ask to add it to the playlists at any time so I just need to start asking more! I am starting to practice another couple of songs too!

I should really be taking my phone with me on my morning Porter walks because Mt Taranaki has been stunning lately. We finally have a good dump of snow up there and the morning views are incredible. Though I don't have any mountain shots, I did drive right to the end of a rainbow last week!

I have been keeping busy with lots of varied projects on with my work - just launched a site for Porter's trainer! There's even a video of him being a very good boy in the testimonials: www.katesk9help.co.nz

There are so many ideas brewing lately and a few coming to fruition so I'm excited about what's to come!

Dustin is shifting jobs soon! He has about 2.5 weeks left at his current role and then is taking a couple weeks off. After that he starts with the Department of Conservation (DOC) as a ranger. So he'll be hiking the trails and fixing the huts and stairs and railings and maintaining the tracks. He'll be doing that over the summer and then well, who knows, part of the brewing ideas after that! A break from building will be so good for him. Just to shake things up a bit - he's been building since what, 2003? And even when we travelled he did building work! So, lots of new job things coming for him.

It's a bit more than 4 months until we visit BC! It still feels really far away and we have my sister coming to visit before then so lots of fun things on the way before our trip away. We keep talking about how much Kraft Dinner we'll be needing to bring back to NZ with us, we might have to book another suitcase...

Taranaki Rugby!

Some photos from the game on Saturday afternoon. The wind caused a few wayward kicks and the torrential downpour mid-game made the ball slip all over the place but then the sun came out and Taranaki won! They were playing Canterbury who are now behind them by one place in the rankings. We had fun and managed to walk there and back without catching any of the rain. The steam-breathing drivable mascot I don't think the photo does justice to just how much it was raining! Line out Go the 'Naki! (They are the yellow and black team.)

Not for the squeamish

Well the long hours of work and planning and helping friends demo sheds and paper shuffling and biking and cooking and eating and cleaning have caught up with us and Dustin has relinquished his right to tell his story from last week. **Note, the pictures are gross so beware if you are a little faint seeing blood... So, last Friday I had worked the early shift and was back at home on a call with a virtual assisting client, so naturally my mobile was on silent, and as soon as I hung up, the home phone rang. (This is a phone that only people who have had a part in giving birth to one of us tend to use... that and wrong numbers, we get a surprising number of wrong numbers...) Anyways when Dustin's voice was on the other end the confusion began. "Hi, I'm at the hospital. Come here now." "What happened??" "I'm fine. Just come up here." (Wheels spinning in my head...) "Are you sure? I think it will take me too long to bike because I
