Everything is Figureoutable

So, I've found some downtime in this ever-hectic life of late. I was clearing out some emails and decided to watch a video in one. That's where the title is from and Marie Forleo is the speaker - it's very good timing for me as I'm midway through a marathon of activities and that simple phrase, "Everything is figureoutable" is going to come in handy.

In the last two months things have really been ramping up. I've increased my client base, I've gone to Sydney and launched a new Zumba class with another insructor, I've created and run a successful health and wellbeing event, I'm involved in planning two other events (Startup Weekend and a Zumba Breast Caner Fundraiser) and this is on top of the usual life and love we live.

Finding downtime feels rare at the moment and even Porter has stopped playing with his ball long enough to just sit and snooze beside me so I must be onto something. I've been so involved in things as a way to fuel my growing business and to get my name out there in town more. As well, the Zumba is a way to ensure I keep active even with all these things on my mind and what better way than to commit to teaching a class that I only trained for a month ago - not to mention I haven't run a fitness class before! Luckily I have a great team and have partnered with our lead instructor so she's taking the lead though I'm still up there for one of the quadrants. We are the first class of its type in New Zealand so that's exciting to be part of!

So in addition to the above, here are a few more updates:

A couple weeks ago, Porter got second place in a Jack Russell dog race!

Dustin has been at his new job for about a month now and was busy lately creating a track on an avalanche path.

We took a couple days off in Wellington in late August as well. There just aren't enough meals in a day though to fit in a two day trip there. Malaysian and Vietnamese food! Yum! We visited a brewer and some brew shops too!

We're going to see Springsteen again in February!! Woo!

And our little puppy is as cute as ever:

Next weekend I'll be participating in Startup Weekend (I ended up with a cold last year and couldn't go!) so that should be full-on and exhilarating. Then Sara comes to town the next weekend and she'll be hanging out with us for just under 3 weeks.

I have a couple other events up my sleeve for November and then Christmas party time will be upon us. So, we're looking forward to taking a break when we visit Canada! Hopefully we make a point for lots of downtime!

In the meantime, I think I'm going to play some uke and prep some food for lunches this week. On a sunny Sunday afternoon.

    1. Lol, that's why there's not enough time in a day because I make sure to get a good eight hours each night which means early to bed! :)

Taranaki Rugby!

Some photos from the game on Saturday afternoon. The wind caused a few wayward kicks and the torrential downpour mid-game made the ball slip all over the place but then the sun came out and Taranaki won! They were playing Canterbury who are now behind them by one place in the rankings. We had fun and managed to walk there and back without catching any of the rain. The steam-breathing drivable mascot I don't think the photo does justice to just how much it was raining! Line out Go the 'Naki! (They are the yellow and black team.)

Not for the squeamish

Well the long hours of work and planning and helping friends demo sheds and paper shuffling and biking and cooking and eating and cleaning have caught up with us and Dustin has relinquished his right to tell his story from last week. **Note, the pictures are gross so beware if you are a little faint seeing blood... So, last Friday I had worked the early shift and was back at home on a call with a virtual assisting client, so naturally my mobile was on silent, and as soon as I hung up, the home phone rang. (This is a phone that only people who have had a part in giving birth to one of us tend to use... that and wrong numbers, we get a surprising number of wrong numbers...) Anyways when Dustin's voice was on the other end the confusion began. "Hi, I'm at the hospital. Come here now." "What happened??" "I'm fine. Just come up here." (Wheels spinning in my head...) "Are you sure? I think it will take me too long to bike because I
