The Never-Ending Now

Countdown is on! Five more sleeps until we see Bruce Springsteen again!! We're heading up to Auckland on Friday with Bridget and Andy and the concert is on Saturday.

We've been watched a couple of docos about him over the weekend, he's such an incredible artist. They had footage of them recording the Darkness on the Edge of Town album and it was amazing how everything is in his head and he won't stop until he gets the songs sounding just like that. Very cool.

Summer has been coming in one-day doses but it seems like this week is finally going to have a few days in a row at least! Which meant a very hot and sweaty Zumba class tonight.

We had a long weekend in early February and spent it building a shed. It's so close to being done!!
(This picture is not the current state).

Porter helped too! We just have a couple things left on it! Dustin's been busy with lots of work trips - a couple nights up the mountain and a day out on the sea!

I've been busy with work, so a couple nights to myself were great! And Porter was happy because he got to sleep on the bed.

We had a fun costume party a few weeks ago... there was a wrestling theme involved so we were Hulk Bogan and Ultimate "Whorier".

So, we're keeping busy enough lately! Still waiting for real summer to arrive though!

  1. It's been a while since I have commented on your posts but don't take that as I don't read them because I sure do. I noticed the lime tree and how much it has grown, is it producing limes now or do they still fall off. Great pictures and so glad to hear summer is finally there as we hear more snow is in our forecast. Gotta love this winter. :) Enjoy the concert. Love Lena

Taranaki Rugby!

Some photos from the game on Saturday afternoon. The wind caused a few wayward kicks and the torrential downpour mid-game made the ball slip all over the place but then the sun came out and Taranaki won! They were playing Canterbury who are now behind them by one place in the rankings. We had fun and managed to walk there and back without catching any of the rain. The steam-breathing drivable mascot I don't think the photo does justice to just how much it was raining! Line out Go the 'Naki! (They are the yellow and black team.)

Not for the squeamish

Well the long hours of work and planning and helping friends demo sheds and paper shuffling and biking and cooking and eating and cleaning have caught up with us and Dustin has relinquished his right to tell his story from last week. **Note, the pictures are gross so beware if you are a little faint seeing blood... So, last Friday I had worked the early shift and was back at home on a call with a virtual assisting client, so naturally my mobile was on silent, and as soon as I hung up, the home phone rang. (This is a phone that only people who have had a part in giving birth to one of us tend to use... that and wrong numbers, we get a surprising number of wrong numbers...) Anyways when Dustin's voice was on the other end the confusion began. "Hi, I'm at the hospital. Come here now." "What happened??" "I'm fine. Just come up here." (Wheels spinning in my head...) "Are you sure? I think it will take me too long to bike because I
